    When storing your personal data and documents on remote server it is impossible to ensure complete security. You can't personally sit and watch the computer your data is stored on, nor are you likely to know what encryption techniques and firewalls your cloud service provider is using. However as long as you stick to some simply, common sense rules, your data will be pretty safe.


    Assess the service provider. Go on a personal reconnaissance mission, are they a reputable company like Google or Yahoo?
